2021 BILD Alberta Community of the Year

Updated: Sep 8, 2023

Harmony, Bordeaux Developments joint project with Qualico Communities, Springbank’s first lake community, was named BILD Alberta’s 2021 Existing Community of the Year.

Launched in 2016, Harmony is a master-planned community developed under a partnership between Bordeaux Developments and Qualico Communities. The community includes a stunning 40 acre fresh-water lake (with another 100-acre lake to come); beaches; pathways; playgrounds; and a new Adventure Park. Harmony is also home to the Mickelson National Golf Club, which is on track to be one of Canada’s top courses and a future Village Centre with a world class wellness spa by Groupe Nordik.

“We are honoured to be named BILD Alberta’s Existing Community of the Year,” says Nina Wulder, marketing and communications coordinator for Qualico Communities Calgary. “Being recognized again really speaks to how the thoughtfully designed community provides residents with a sense of community and livability.”

BILD Alberta hosts the industries provincial competition that highlights Alberta’s top home builders, professional renovators, community developers and safety leaders in 33 different categories. As a community Harmony was nominated for Existing Community of the Year, Show Home Parade of the Year and the Developer Pinnacle Award. Through extensive peer review and judging, Harmony was awarded Existing Community of the Year for 2021.

“Harmony’s vision has been a collaboration of many stakeholders from our team, our partner Qualico Communities, our builders, members of the community, and Rocky View County,” says Birol Fisekci, president and CEO of Bordeaux Developments. “It is a great honour to have our team’s dedication to the community recognized by our peers and proud to have Harmony named BILD Alberta’s Existing Community of the Year for 2021.”

A variety of housing options are now available in Harmony including the Birch Collection of townhomes from the mid $400s; the Poplar Collection of front drive and rear laned from the low $600s; the Willow Collection of villa bungalows from the $800s; and the Tamarack Collection of estate and lakefront homes from the mid $900s.

“The current product offering and Harmony’s amenities with gorgeous Rocky Mountain views make it a truly unique place to live. It brings together the best of urban and country experiences to create a remarkable community,” says Laurel Campbell, marketing manager for Bordeaux Developments. “Families truly appreciate living within an active, amenity-rich community that is both the perfect base camp to the Rockies and yet only 20 minutes to downtown Calgary. It’s the perfect balance.”
